DATRA MARTINDALE
Born and raised in New York, Datra Martindale began her career in the entertainment industry. Over more than 20 years, she held a variety of roles and worked with major record labels and publications including Atlantic Records, Arista Records, Cosmopolitan, People, Rolling Stone, Essence, and Vibe.
Eventually, her passion for wellness and beauty called her in a new direction, and she brought the creativity, leadership, and industry experience she had developed into the world of esthetics.
Fresh out of beauty school, Datra hit the ground running. As a licensed esthetician and esthetics instructor with experience in New York, California, and Nevada, she has worked with notable clients and brands including Paris Hilton, Princess Beatrice of York, and Gwyneth Paltrow’s goop.
Her career has also included leadership, education, training, and management roles with beauty companies and schools including European Wax Center, FaceGym, Amazing Lash, Christine Valmy International, and Paul Mitchell The School.
Today, that experience informs the way she approaches Facial Forensics: combining professional knowledge, purposeful ingredients, and a belief that effective skincare does not have to be complicated.
Facial Forensics was born from a simple question: why should professional skincare feel generic?
While studying esthetics, Datra became dissatisfied with the products included in her student kit and began creating her own toner. Classmates started using it. Friends and family tested it, including her grandmother. What began as a solution for her own skin quickly became something other people wanted too.
That curiosity grew into Facial Forensics.
Her background as a licensed esthetician, educator, trainer, and beauty industry professional continues to shape how she approaches skincare today. She believes effective skincare should be intentional, approachable, and rooted in understanding what the skin actually needs.
